The invention relates to a cable connector assembly (1) comprising a cable connector (2) with metallic cover shells (4,5) and a cable (3), said cable (3) comprising a shielding braid (31) in electrical connection with at least one of said metallic cover shells (4,5). A portion of said shielding braid (31) is folded back over a support member (33) provided for said cable (3) to clamp said portion of said shielding braid (31) between said support member (31) and at least one of said metallic cover shells (4,5) in a clamping portion of said cable connector (2). Accordingly a cable connector assembly (1) is obtained with improved mechanical and electromagnetic shielding characteristics. The support member (33) is not crimped on the cable jacket and may comprise multiple parts. The invention further relates to a cable connector (2) and a method for assembling a cable (3) to a cable connector (2).

L'invention concerne un ensemble (1) connecteur de câbles comprenant un connecteur de câbles (2) à enveloppe protectrice (4, 5) métallique et un câble (3), ce dernier comprenant une tresse protectrice (31) en liaison électrique avec au moins une des enveloppes protectrice (4, 5) métalliques. Une partie de ladite tresse (31) est repliée sur un élément support (33) utilisé pour le câble (3), ce qui permet de serrer la partie de la tresse (31) entre un élément support (31) et au moins une des enveloppes protectrice (4, 5) métalliques dans une partie de serrage dudit connecteur de câbles (2). Selon l'invention, un ensemble (1) connecteur de câbles présente des caractéristiques de protection mécanique et électromagnétique améliorées. Ledit élément support (33) n'est pas rabattu sur la gaine du câble et peut comprendre plusieurs parties.
