The torsion-spring plug comprises a base and a spring-receiving body coaxially projecting from the base. The cable drum has a centrally-opened web and a cylindrical rim. The base of the plug is inserted into a removable locking engagement with the web of the drum for the purpose of forming a combined assembly that is suitable, for instance, in counterbalancing mechanisms. Instead of providing the two parts molded together, the present assembly is modular and versatile since it allows to combine various models and sizes of drums and plugs.
