ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE According to the present invention an electrical conductor assembly is possible, which is less expensive to produce and ship while improving in the quality thereof. This is achieved by using synthetic foam fillers between electrical conductors which are of reduced weight and achieve their resiliency through the closed gas cells. In some applications, the synthetic foam is reinforced with a polymeric yarn to increase the tensile strength needed in the manufacture of large diameter conductor assemblies. The foam fillers readily conform to the shape of the interstices between electrical conductors when compressed by an exterior type member. Therefore, it is possible to use a single foam filler to replace the many strands of polypropylene fibres or twine fibres formerly used, and the foam filler will readily deform to the required shape to essentially completely fill the interstice between conductors. Superior resistance to water contamination is achieved as the closed cells of the foam eliminate "wicking" of water within the filler which is a problem with stranded fillers.
