14 A method of laying cable such as fiber optic cable which cannot be twisted past an obstacle includes rewinding the cable from the inner end through an excavation under the obstacle from a first reel onto a second reel downstream of the obstacle. Both the first and second reels are of a type having first and second end flanges both of which are removable from the reel and a radially collapsible hub. During the rewinding step, the supply reel from the plough is positioned on end and the cable withdrawn from the inner turns of the winding and pulled off over end thus introducing a turn of twist. The key to the system is that when the second reel is unwound at the obstacle it is inverted relative to the first reel so that the second end is uppermost thus causing the twist to be subtracted and cancelled rather than summated.

Cette invention concerne une méthode de pose de câbles comme des câbles à fibres optiques que l'on ne doit pas vriller au contournement d'un obstacle. Il s'agit de rembobiner le câble par le brin intérieur d'une première bobine pour le transférer vers une seconde bobine en aval de l'obstacle, à travers un passage creusé sous l'obstacle. Les deux bobines sont du type à flasques amovibles et à corps à diamètre réglable. Au rembobinage, la bobine débitrice montée sur l'engin de terrassement est placée debout et le câble est débité par le brin intérieur en le faisant passer par-dessus la bobine, ce qui a pour effet de vriller le câble. La clé de l'invention est qu'au débobinage à partir de la deuxième bobine au droit de l'obstacle, celle-ci est inversée par rapport à la première bobine, ce qui annule le vrillage plutôt que de l'augmenter.
