ABSTRACT A cable pulley arrangement (1) comprising a pulley (4) on which a cable (5) is wound. The pulley (4) is held by a lock means (6). When the lock means (6) is released, the cable (5) is unwound is a weight (14) is hung on the ends (15) thereof. The cable (5) is so arranged that, when the cable (5) is wound on the pulley, both ends (15) of the cable are at one side of the pulley (4) while when the cable (5) is unwound they hang down at both sides of the pulley (4).
