A plug connector includes a housing (10), a through-opening (14, 16, 28, 30) for a cable, and a seal (20) adapted to seal in the area of the through- opening. A pressure plate (26) is provided which can compress the seal (20) between the pressure plate and a mating face (12) in the housing. Thereby part of the seal is pressed inwards in radial direction with respect to the through- opening (14, 16, 28, 30).
