ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved caged disc valve in a metering container is disclosed. A cage contains a resilient floatable disc member adjacent an outlet passage at the bottom of the container. The cage is generally circular with a flat top wall and side walls, there being one or more openings in the side wall. The interior surfaces of the side and top walls have a number of inwardly projecting ribs which function to prevent the disc from adhering to either the top or the side walls as liquid is dispensed from the container. This assures that the disc will reliably operate to close the outlet passage and prevent air from going beyond this passage when the level of the liquid reaches the outlet passage.
