ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A granular, heterogeneous calcium hypochlorite composi- tion comprising a mixture of a substantially anhydrous granular component and a hydrated granular component having water of crystallization averag- ing from 2 to 3 moles water per mole of Ca(OCl)2 in the form of CA(OCl)2?3H2O, has an improved stability and safety, the composition being suitable for preparing break-resistant calcium hypochlorite tablets which are readily dissolved.
