ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A removable calibration assembly is disclosed which can be utilized to verify the angular mounting of transducers in an array employed in the inspection apparatus, to calibrate one axis of movement of the array with refer- ence to a zero starting point or to measure and calibrate for the speed per unit of distance of the transducer's ultrasonic beam in the actual operating medium. The cali- bration assembly includes both a relatively infinitely large and a relatively infinitely small reflecting surface separ- ated by known distances and a plurality of truncated cones, the tips of which are machined or adjusted to those angles at which certain of the transducers are to be mounted in the array. In addition, clamping means for securing the cali- bration assembly to the inspection apparatus at a predetsr- mined orientations provided.
