ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A method of assigning a feature service to the line of a subscriber of a telecommunications network during the network's administration operation. The first step of the method is executing, at a predefined point during the administration, a first data operation to determine whether the assignment of a respective feature service is blocked by a currently assigned feature service. Thereafter, the method executes a second data operation to determine whether the assignment of the respective feature service requires the prior assignment of another feature service. The method then assigns the feature service to the subscriber line upon determining that the feature service is not blocked and that any required feature services are already assigned to the line.
