Abstract of the Disclosure: A camera comprises a selection circuit which selects either an image signal read out from an image sensor or a reproduced signal obtained from a recording medium; an A/D converter which converts into a digital signal the signal selected by the selection circuit; a storage circuit for storing the digital signal; and a reference control circuit which is arranged to control the reference voltage of the A/D converter by using a white balance control signal when the image signal is selected by the selection circuit and to make the refer- ence voltage constant when the reproduced signal is selected.
