Image data from a video surveillance camera is moved from a volatile memory such as a circular buffer to a non-volatile memory such as a flash memory when a loss of signal from the camera is detected. The loss of signal may occur when an intruder disables the system such as by cutting a cable, by vandalizing the camera so that it no longer can transmit image data, or removing the camera altogether. The loss of signal is detected by determining whether a signal portion such as a start of active video code, end of active video code, or horizontal or vertical blanking interval, is present on a communication path of the camera. The system ensures that an image of the intruder is captured and stored before the system is disabled. Analog signals from the camera may be digitized for storage.
Selon l'invention, des données d'image provenant d'une caméra de vidéosurveillance sont déplacées d'une mémoire volatile de type tampon circulaire à une mémoire non volatile de type mémoire flash lorsque la perte d'un signal de la caméra est détectée. La perte de signal peut se produire lorsqu'un intrus désactive le système par sectionnement d'un câble, par dégradation de la caméra de façon que cette dernière ne soit plus en mesure de transmettre de données d'image, ou par élimination de la caméra. La perte de signal est détectée par détermination de la présence d'une partie de signal sur une voie de communication de la caméra, de type début de code vidéo actif, fin de code vidéo actif, ou intervalle de suppression horizontal ou vertical. Le système permet d'assurer la capture et le stockage d'une image de l'intrus avant d'être désactivé. Des signaux analogiques issus de la caméra peuvent être numérisés à des fins de stockage.
