The invention is a solid fuel burning portable stove named, "Camper's Companion" comprising approximately three vertical (upright) hollow heat resistant cylinders (for description purposes herein, it will be considered to have three cylinders) that are arranged vertically, one directly above the other, the bottom cylinder being slightly larger in diameter than the middle cylinder and the middle cylinder being slightly larger in diameter than the top cylinder in order to allow the top cylinder to fit within the middle cylinder and the middle to fit within the bottom cylinder in a telescopic manner. The top cylinder s supported by brackets on the middle cylinder, and the middle cylinder is supported by brackets on the bottom cylinder. Other parts include stabilizing bars, a bottom, a draft door, cooking bars, a fuel supply door, a cooking frame, brackets to support the cylinders, a bar to remove the top cylinder and leveling blocks, all of which are heat resistant. The fuel source is primarily wood, however any suitable solid combustible material can be used. The main inventive feature is the telescopic function of the cylinders which allows the Camper's Companion to be carried easily and also enables the Camper's Companion to function more intensely and efficiently as a result of the silo effect of the cylinders. In addition, the design comprises a number of ancillary features without which the main inventive features would not function. In order to provide the telescopic feature and the silo effect, none of the parts are permanently attached to the cylinders. The present state of the art in solid fuel burning portable stoves does not provide a stove with the variety of features required of a portable stove, all of which are provided by the Camper's Companion. The claims include the main inventive feature and the ancillary features which make the Camper's Companion a complete and practical stove for use in the outdoors. The purpose of the Camper's Companion is to provide outdoor enthusiasts with a solid fuel burning portable stove for cooking and heating which will satisfy the requirements of rigorous outdoor living and which can be easily carried in a backpack taking up very little space. The Camper's Companion is constructed with multiple pieces, which can be easily assembled and disassembled.
