ABSTRACT A can body welder for welding the overlapped portion of a can body by passing said portion between upper and lower electrode rolls, which is provided with a cooling means for keeping the temperature of the tip portion of said for- ward guide part while welding at a temperature at which the surface protective layer of the portion of the can body which comes in contact with and slides along said tip portion cannot be damaged.
