Abstract of the Disclosure A reusable can closure device particularly adapted for use in seal- ing a radially directed teardrop shaped opening formed in the top of a cyl- indrical can by a built-in pull-tab. The device is made up of two pieces a plug of deformable resilient material and an elongated spring clip. One end of the spring clip is shaped in the form of a hook and the other end is shaped in the form of a clamp. The plug is attached to the clip in a force- fit manner near one end. When the clip is secured to the rim at the top of the can with the plug positioned in the opening, the plug extends over and into the opening so as to provide an airtight seal.
