The integrity and quality of the internal coating of a container such as a can (7) is measured by attaching an electric terminal to the can, inserting an electrode (15) into the can, applying an electric signal to either the electric terminal or the electrode, and measuring the current flowing between the terminal and the electrode as an electrolyte is being added to the can. By measuring the electric signal as the level of electrolyte is being varied, an indication can be achieved of the quality and integrity of the coating at various parts of the can.

Selon l'invention, on mesure l'intégrité et la qualité du revêtement intérieur d'un contenant, tel qu'une boîte métallique (7), en fixant une borne électrique sur la boîte métallique, en insérant une électrode (15) dans cette boîte, en appliquant un signal électrique, soit sur la borne électrique, soit sur l'électrode, et en mesurant le courant circulant entre la borne et l'électrode au moment où l'on ajoute un électrolyte à la boîte métallique. En mesurant le signal électrique au moment où l'on fait varier le niveau de l'électrolyte, on obtient une indication de la qualité et de l'intégrité du revêtement au niveau de divers endroits de la boîte métallique.
