-13- CAN OR PLASTIC BOTTLE CRUSHER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A can crusher includes a base upon which the can rests and a handle component pivotally connected by one end to one end of the base. A crushing plate is secured to the middle of the handle adjacent the first connection thereof and a relatively thin spring loaded crimping member pivotally extends from the one end of the crushing plate at an acute angle thereto and towards the first connector of the handle to the base to initiate the crimping of the can as the handle and crushing plate is moved towards the base. Linkage connects the handle to the base and allows a two position selection for small and large cans by varying the distance between the crushing plate and the base.
