.cndot. The invention is a shopping cart cover designed to protect infants and toddlers from germs and food related bacteria found on department, grocery and warehouse sized shopping carts. .cndot. In this invention, the cart cover is equipped with its own heavy duty and washable buckle and safety strap. The longest end of the safety strap loops around infant/toddler's waist through a large 4 inch buttonhole to the back grid of the shopping cart. The shorter end of the strap, which is sewn into and attached to the cover, then leads through to the back of shopping cart grid. The buckle then fastens at the back, as compared to the front where toddlers can unclip the buckle and remove themselves from the shopping cart seating area. The design also has an elastic perimeter as to allow for a one-hand installation and can expand to fit larger sized warehouse carts. As well, because this design has its own buckle, parents can avoid using the buckle already attached to shopping carts as these are weathered, broken, dirty and unsafe. .cndot. In this invention and design, the cart cover has a unique interior design. The seating area consists of 4 layers of cotton and bamboo lining whereas the remaining perimeter of the cover consists of only two layers. Thus, maximizing comfort for baby and toddler and minimizing bulk for parents in the transportation of the item to and from stores. The invention is eco-friendly as it uses cotton and bamboo lining not polyester. .cndot. The Canadian Cozy.TM. Shopping Cart Cover has 1 elasticized lined toy attachment and a large pocket for toys, treats and bottle. The pocket is located inside the seating area on the right side of the cover.
