A method of stimulating an immune response to a tumor in an immunocopetent subject by administering a p53 expression construct to a tumor. The construct expresses p53 in tumor cells in an amount sufficient to stimulate an immune response against the tumor. Both viral and non-viral delivery systems are contemplated. The method can be combined with chemotherapy agents as well as with other cancer therapies.

L'invention concerne une méthode de stimulation d'une réponse immunitaire face à une tumeur chez un sujet immunocompétent par administration d'une construction d'expression p53 au niveau d'une tumeur. Cette construction exprime p53 dans des cellules tumorales dans une quantité suffisante pour stimuler une réponse immunitaire vis-à-vis de la tumeur. Ladite invention a aussi pour objet des systèmes d'administration viraux et non viraux. La méthode de cette invention peut être combinée à des agents de chimiothérapie, ainsi qu'à d'autres cancérothérapies.
