-7- CANNED PRODUCT HANDLING APPARATUS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A handling apparatus is described for handling products contained within cylindrical containers. It has particular application to canned pet food. The apparatus has a shaft with auger frighting on one end and a T-handle at the other. A cap is fitted on the shaft between the handle and the auger. In use, the auger is driven into the pet food in a can to the desired depth and is then withdrawn from the can bringing the desired amount of pet food with it. After removal of the pet food from the auger, the auger is replaced in the can and the cap is used to close the open end of the can for storage purposes.
