- 14 - CANOE YOKE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A yoke for a canoe comprises an elongate channel section member including a flange member at either end for connection to the gunwales of the canoe so that the member extends across the open top of the canoe. The member is bent to define a neck curve section which extends to the rear of the neck of the portager out of contact therewith. Separate shoulder support members are carried on the member downwardly thereof and transversely thereto to rest upon the shoulders of the portager with the neck curve maintained out of contact. Adjustment of the shoulder supports is provided about two axes and in one direction so as to accommodate different sizes of portager. A sliding connection between the member and the flanges can be provided to accommodate different size canoes.
