A cantilever type probe comprises a cantilever-shaped displacement element and a tip which displacement element has a first electrode layer, a first piezoelectric material film and a second piezoelectric material film which films are laminated on respective sides of the first electrode layer, and a second electrode layer and a third electrode layer which layer are laminated on respective surfaces of the piezoelectric material films, and which tip is connected with a leader electrode located at a free end of the surface of the displacement element; wherein in the width direction of the cantilever both ends of the first electrode layer are more protruded out than each end of the second and third electrode layers does. A scanning tunneling microscopy comprises the cantilever type probe, a driving means for displacing the probe, a stage for specimen so as to approach and locate the specimen to the tip, and a potential applying means for applying a bias voltage between the tip and the specimen. An information processing apparatus further comprises a second potential applying means for applying a pulse and bias voltage between the tip and the recording medium; wherein an information is written on the recording medium and an information in the recording medium is read out by electric current flowing between the tip and the recording medium.
L'invention est une sonde du type cantilever comportant un élément de déplacement en cantilever et une pointe, cet élément de déplacement comportant une première couche d'électrode, un premier film piézoélectrique et un second film piézoélectrique, lesquels sont laminés sur les deux côtés de la première couche d'électrode, une seconde couche d'électrode et une troisième couche d'électrode, lesquelles sont laminées sur les surfaces des deux films piézoélectriques. La pointe est connectée à une électrode de commande placée à l'une des extrémités libres de la surface de l'élément de déplacement. € l'intérieur de la sonde, dans le sens de la largeur du cantilever, les deux extrémités de la première couche d'électrode sont en saillie de façon plus prononcée que les extrémités des seconde et troisième couches d'électrode. L'invention est également constituée par un microscope à effet tunnel comportant la sonde du type cantilever, un dispositif servant à déplacer cette sonde, un porte-spécimen servant à approcher le spécimen de la pointe et à le positionner par rapport à cette dernière, et un dispositif servant à appliquer une tension de polarisation entre la pointe et le spécimen. L'invention est également constituée par un appareil de traitement d'informations comportant un second dispositif servant à appliquer une tension impulsionnelle et une tension de polarisation entre la pointe et le support d'enregistrement contenant des informations enregistrées, lesquelles sont lues au moyen d'un courant électrique circulant entre la pointe et le support d'enregistrement.
