- 20 - Title: CAP FOR A PEN OR THE LIKE, WITH SOUND PRODUCER Abstract of the Disclosure A pen cap includes a sound producer, which plays sounds ranging from programmed beep-tunes to recorded voice, when the cap is removed from a pen. The cap has an end plug into which is built a battery, a loudspeaker, a circuit board, and a light sensor. When the cap is removed from the pen, light falls on the sensor and causes the sounds to be produced. The electrical circuit is activated solely by light; there are no mechanical or moving parts for the user to operate, to initiate the sound. The circuit components are structurally integrated into the end plug.
