A CAP-SHAPED ENDOPROSTHESIS FOR A FEMORAL HEAD Abstract of the Disclosure The cap-shaped endoprosthesis is formed of a cap- shaped shell and an anchoring pin which extends through a bore in the shell. In addition, the peripheral edge of the shell is provided with a plurality of apertures into which tissue may invade to aid in securing the shell to the femoral head. Where the shell and pin are made of different materials, a plastic member maintains the pin and shell out of contact with each other.
