ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The invention relates to an arrangement provided with a gas and/or vapour discharge lamp which is stabilised with a series arrangement of an inductor L and a capacitor C. According to the invention the lamp has an operating voltage which is less than 20% of the voltage of the alternating voltage supply source; a stable operation of that lamp is possible when the values of L and C are so adjusted that there is a resonance between 3.5 and 4 times the frequency of the alternating voltage source. This means that the inductor may be small.
