A base-station transceiver system (BTS) operative in a cellular telephone network, consisting of a main up-link port and a diversity up-link port which are adapted to operate cooperatively to receive up-link signals over-the-air from cellular telephones such that both of the ports receive the up-link signals from each of the cellular telephones. The two ports are coupled to receive signals from wired telephones, such that the main up-link port receives signals only from a first group of the wired telephones and the diversity up-link port receives signals only from a second group of the wired telephones. The system also includes signal processing circuitry which is adapted to receive the signals from the up-link ports and convey the signals over the network.
La pr~sente invention a trait ~ un systme d'~metteur/r~cepteur d'une station de base op~rant dans un r~seau de t~l~phonie cellulaire, constitu~ d'un port principal de liaison montante et un port ~ diversit~ de liaison montante qui sont adapt~s ~ coop~rer pour la r~ception de signaux de liaison montante par radio en provenance des t~l~phones cellulaires de sorte que les deux ports re×oivent les signaux de liaison montante en provenance de chacun des t~l~phones cellulaires. Les deux ports sont coupl~s pour la r~ception de signaux en provenance de t~l~phones c~bl~s, de sorte que le port principal de liaison montante re×oit des signaux uniquement en provenance d'un premier groupe de t~l~phones c~bl~s et le port ~ diversit~ de liaison montante re×oit des signaux uniquement en provenance d'un deuxime groupe de t~l~phones c~bl~s. Le systme comporte ~galement un circuit de traitement de signaux qui est adapt~ ~ recevoir les signaux en provenance des ports de liaison montante et ~ transporter les signaux sur le r~seau.
