A buoyant planter and its use. In one embodiment, the invention is a buoyant planter comprising: a nonwoven matrix body comprising fibers; a plurality of buoyant foam units integrated into said nonwoven matrix to produce a buoyant mass, said buoyant foam units being comprised of an expanded, cured polymer resin that envelopes a portion of said fibers to produce foamed zones; and a hydrophilic growth medium that is supported by said nonwoven matrix body. In another embodiment, the invention is a buoyant planter comprising: a nonwoven matrix body comprising fibers; a plurality of substantially vertical capillary channels within said nonwoven matrix body, each of said substantially vertical capillary channels having an upper end; and a grass sod disposed on said nonwoven matrix body and in communication with said upper ends.
L'invention concerne un plantoir flottant et son utilisation. Dans un mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne un plantoir flottant qui comprend un corps de matrice non tissée qui comprend des fibres, plusieurs unités en mousse flottante intégrées dans ladite matrice non tissée pour produire une masse flottante, lesdites unités de mousse flottante étant constituées d'une résine polymère expansée, durcie, qui enveloppe une partie desdites fibres pour fournir des zones moussées, et un milieu de croissance hydrophile qui est supporté par ledit corps de matrice non tissée. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne un plantoir flottant qui comprend un corps de matrice non tissée qui comprend des fibres, plusieurs canaux capillaires essentiellement verticaux dans ledit corps de matrice non tissée, chacun desdits canaux capillaires essentiellement verticaux présentant une extrémité supérieure, et une motte de gazon agencée sur ledit corps de matrice non tissée en communication avec lesdites extrémités supérieures.
