ABSTRACT Ink compositions for use in capillary type writing instruments containing amide compounds of the formula: Image wherein R1 is -H, -CH3, or -NH2 when R2 is -(CH2)2OH and R3 is -H or -(CH2)2OH, and -NH2 when R2 and R3 are -H, R4 is -H, -CH3, or -NH2, and n is 0,1, or 2. These ink compositions, when used in capillary type writing instruments, allow rejuvenation of writing points which have dried out from exposure to the atmosphere.
