PHN. 9187. ABSTRACT: Capless electric incandescent lamp having a flat pinch with a first major face along which the current conductors are bent back may be constructed so that when placed in a lamp holder the filament always assumes the same position. For that purpose the lamps comprise on a second major face means which can coop- erate with a fixing member in a lamp holder and two inclined side faces for centring the lamp in a lamp holder. In a capless incandescent lamp according to the invention, grooves or ribs constituting the means to cooperate with a fixing member are situated on the inclined side faces of the pinch. As a result of this construction, the lamps are more accurately positioned in a lamp holder in spite of smaller forces exerted by the fixing member.
