ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: New capryloyloxyalkyl acrylates useful as plasticizers not subject to migration or extraction in the production of PVC are disclosed, which are of the general formula: CH2=CH-CO-O-R-O-CO-(CH2)6-CH3 where R is a C2-C6 alkylene group with 2 to 6 carbon atoms, and their polymers and copolymers containing structural units of the general formula: Image where R is the same or different C2-C6 alkylene groups, either alone or in admixture with vinyl chloride structural units in the main chain or side chains. The invention also proposes a method of preparation of such capryloyloxyalkyl acrylates by esterification of hydroxyalkyl caprylates of the general formula: HO-R-O-CO-(CH2)6-CH3 with acrylic acid, its chloride, bromide or anhydride, or of hydroxyalkyl acrylates of the general formula: HO-R-O-CO-CH=CH2 with caprylic acid, its chloride, bromide or anhydride.
