A capsule for oral delivery of a composition comprises 60 % to 95 % by weight of gum arabic and to the remainder a water-soluble polymer, a hydrocolloid and a plasticizer. The proportion of gum arabic is preferably 70 % to 90% by weight of all components. The water-soluble polymer is preferably a hydroxypropylmethylcellulose or carboxymethylcellulose or alginetes. The hydrocolloid is preferably a carrageenan or agar gum or galactomannan or a mixture thereof. The capsule may be is containing medicinal or pharmaceutical agents as fill material. The capsule has good mechanical strength and low brittleness. The presence of gum arabic in a solution raises the solubility of other film-forming polymers.
Cette invention se rapporte à une capsule pour administration par voie orale, qui est constituée par une composition comprenant 60 à 95 % en poids de gomme arabique, le reste étant constitué d'un polymère hydrosoluble, d'un hydrocolloïde et d'un plastifiant. La proportion de gomme arabique est de préférence 70 à 90 % en poids de tous les constituants. Le polymère hydrosoluble est de préférence constitué par une hydroxypropylméthylcellulose ou une carboxyméthylcellulose ou par des alginates. L'hydrocolloïde est de préférence constitué par une gomme de carraghen ou d'agar ou par un galactomannane ou par un mélange de ceux-ci. Cette capsule peut contenir des agents médicinaux ou pharmaceutiques comme substance de charge. Cette capsule possède une bonne résistance mécanique et une faible friabilité. La présence de gomme arabique dans la solution augmente la solubilité d'autres polymères formant film.
