PHP 1242 1 19.3.80 ABSTRACT: A capsule for detecting changes in the shape of a body wall. An apparatus for detecting and measuring chan- ges in the shape of a body wall (7) includes a detector capsule (31) adapted for attachment to the wall and pneumatically connected to a volume transducer responsive to changes in the internal volume of the sensor produced by changes in shape of the wall. The internal volume of the capsule (31) is partially defined by a flexible diaphragm (32) for en- gagement and complementary movement with the wall (7), the capsule (31) also containing a body (36) of resi- liently deformable material which presses the diaphragm (32) into contact with the wall (7) regardless of the (convex or concave) shape of the wall.
