In this car structure (1) for an elevator car, two robust frame elements (3, 4) which bound the enclosure of an elevator car, together with a support structure (2) and two crosspieces (5, 6) which join the frame elements (3, 4), form a framework which stiffens the elevator car. The frame elements (3, 4) support the upper guide shoes (7, 8), the lower guide shoes (9.1, 10.1) being fastened to the side plates (19, 20) of the supporting structure (2) together with the safety gears (9.2, 10.2). Wall elements (27-29) fastened to the frame elements (3, 4), a floor plate (30) resting on the supporting structure (2) and having a floor element (31), and a ceiling plate (32) fastened to the frame elements (3, 4), form the shell of an elevator car. The instruments and the mechanical and electrical subassemblies required for an elevator car ready for operation can be fastened to the frame elements (3, 4), which serve as mountings, and to the ceiling plate (32).
