LaHann ABSTRACT A compound, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, having the formula: Image wherein X is O or S; wherein R is C3-C12 alkyl or aralkyl, branched or unbranched, aryl or haloaryl, C3-C22 alkenyl, branched or unbranched, or benzyl; wherein R1 is H, OH or OCH3, and R2 is H or OH, at least one of R1 and R2 being OH or OCH3. These carbamates have analgesic and anti-irritant activity when administered to humans and lower animals.
