A carbapenem compound represented by the formula (I'): (I') (wherein the symbols have the same meanings as defined in the description); and an antibacterial containing the compound as the active ingredient. The carbapenem compound has excellent absorbability through the digestive tract after oral administration. It is extremely useful in the prevention of and remedy for infectious diseases (especially microbism).
