A gastroretentive drug formulation for the sustained release of an active agent in the gastrointestinal tract comprises an internal layer or compartment comprising an active agent and one or more pharmaceutical excipients, of which at least one is a polymer and two membranes forming together an envelope around the inner membrane, each membrane comprising at least one polymeric combination of an enteric polymer which is not soluble in gastric juice, and an hydrophilic swelling polymer, and at least one plasticizer.

L'invention concerne une formulation médicamenteuse à rétention gastrique pour la libération prolongée d'un agent actif dans le tractus gastro-intestinal, qui comprend une couche ou un compartiment interne renfermant un agent actif et un ou plusieurs excipients pharmaceutiques, dont au moins un est un polymère, et deux membranes formant ensemble une enveloppe autour de la membrane intérieure. Chaque membrane comprend au moins une combinaison polymère d'un polymère entérique insoluble dans les sucs gastriques et d'un polymère hydrophile gonflant, et au moins un plastifiant.
