The synthesis of carbohydrates using chiro-inositol as a starting material is described, and especially to the synthesis of chiro-inositol containing IPG mimetics such as compound C4 (chiro-inositol containing oligosaccharide is 1D- 6-0-(2-amino-2-deoxy-.alpha.-D-glucopyranosyl)-chiro-inositol 1-phosphate). The compounds are the products of a glycosylation reaction between a glycosyl acceptor produced from chiro-inositol and a glycosyl donor.

L'invention concerne la synthèse d'hydrates de carbone par l'utilisation du chiro-inositol comme matière première, et plus spécialement la synthèse du chiro-inositol contenant des mimétiques d'IPG, tel que le composé C4 (le chiro-inositol contenant un oligosaccharide est 1D-6-0-(2-amino-2-deoxy-.alpha.-D-glucopyranosyl)-chiro-inositol 1-phosphate). Les composés sont le produit d'une réaction de glycosylation entre un glycosyl receveur obtenu à partir de chiro-inositol et un glycosyl donneur.
