A B S T R A C T Apparatus for effecting separation of gasiform material from a stream of suspended solid particles has an elongated tubular riser open in its upper end. An upper portion of the riser is located within a larger disengagement chamber, and the upper open end of the tubular riser is positioned below the top of the disengagement chamber. An annular chamber is open in its upper end about an upper end portion of the tubular riser the annular chamber being in open communication in an upper portion with the open end riser. Radiating open end conduits are in open communication with the annular chamber in one end thereof are attachable to a cyclone separator on the opposite end thereof either within or external to the disengaging chamber.
