A system and process for utilizing tailgas from a carbon black manufacturing process as a fuel in a reciprocating engine. The tailgas is dewatered and mixed with air to form a fuel gas. The fuel gas is pressure charged and then ignited in the reciprocating engine to derive useful work.

L'invention porte sur un système et un processus permettant d'utiliser comme carburant pour alimenter un moteur alternatif le gaz résiduaire provenant d'un procédé de fabrication de noir de carbone. Le gaz résiduaire est déshydraté et mélangé à l'air de façon à obtenir un gaz combustible. Ce gaz combustible est mis sous pression, puis allumé dans le moteur alternatif pour produire un travail utile.
