A method for removing carbon dioxide from a gas stream and controlling ammonia vapor by scrubbing the carbon dioxide from the gas stream with ammonium carbonate, thereby producing ammonia vapor and ammonium bicarbonate; removing a portion of the ammonia vapor from the gas stream with ammonium bicarbonate; and polishing the flue gas to achieve an ammonia concentration of less than 10 PPM.

L'invention concerne un procédé servant à enlever le dioxyde de carbone d'un flux gazeux et à ajuster la vapeur d'ammoniac, consistant à : laver le dioxyde de carbone du flux gazeux avec du carbonate d'ammonium, ce par quoi on produit de la vapeur d'ammoniac et du bicarbonate d'ammonium ; enlever une partie de la vapeur d'ammoniac du flux gazeux avec du bicarbonate d'ammonium ; et effectuer une purification de finissage de l'effluent gazeux pour atteindre une concentration en ammoniac inférieure à 10 ppm.
