Abstract of the Disclosure Novel carbonyl-substituted 1-sulfonylbenzimida- zoles, useful as antiviral agents, are described herein. These novel compounds are prepared by reacting the cor- responding tautomeric benzimidazole with a substituted sulfonyl chloride.
