Processes for producing saturated polymers monosubstituted with carboxylic amides are disclosed. One process comprises reacting a monounsaturated hydrocarbon polymer with carbon monoxide and a polyamine containing at least two amino groups at least one of which is a reactive amino group, in the presence of a catalyst comprising at least one member selected from the group consisting of the transition metals of Group 8 to 10 and the metal compounds thereof. Another process comprises reacting a polyamine containing a reactive amino group with a monofuntionalized, saturated hydrocarbon polymer containing a carboxylic acid or carboxylic ester functional group, the monofunctionalized hydrocarbon polymer obtained by reacting a starting monounsaturated hydorcarbon polymer with carbon monoxide and water or alcohol in the presence of a Group 8-10 transition metal catalyst. The products of the processes are useful as additives in lubricating oils and in fuels, for example, as dispersants and/or detergents.
L'invention concerne des procédés servant à préparer des polymères saturés monosubstitués par des amides carboxyliques. Un procédé consiste à effectuer la réaction d'un polymère d'hydrocarbure monoinsaturé avec de l'oxyde de carbone et une polyamine contenant au moins deux groupes amino, dont au moins un est un groupe amino réactif, en présence d'un catalyseur comprenant au moins un élément sélectionné dans le groupe constitué par les métaux de transition du Groupe 8 à 10 et par leurs composés métalliques. Un autre procédé consiste à effectuer la réaction d'une polyamine contenant un groupe amino réactif avec un polymère monofonctionnel d'hydrocarbure saturé contenant un acide carboxylique ou un groupe fonctionnel d'ester carboxylique, ce polymère monofonctionnel d'hydrocarbure étant obtenu par réaction d'un polymère d'hydrocarbure de départ monoinsaturé en présence d'un catalyseur de métal de transition du Groupe 8-10. Les produits obtenus au moyen de ces procédés sont utiles en tant qu'additifs d'huiles lubrifiantes et de carburants, par exemple, en tant que dispersants ou détergents.
