A carburetor (10) for an internal combustion engine including a body (12) having an air inlet (14) and air outlet (16). A throat (18) is disposed in the body (12) between the air inlet (14) and outlet (16). A slide assembly (20) is movably disposed in the body (12) for crosswise movement across the throat (18). The slide assembly (20) includes a stepped portion (38) upstream of the throat (18) and the lower portion of the air inlet (14) is narrowed for concentrating and compressing the air entering the throat (18). A reservoir (24) containing fuel is attached to the body (12). The fuel reservoir (24) includes a fuel outlet (30) located in the throat (18). An adjustable metering rod (26) extends through the slide assembly (20) and throat (18) into the fuel reservoir (24).

L'invention se rapporte à un carburateur (10) pour moteur à combustion interne qui comporte un corps (12) muni d'une admission d'air (14) et d'une sortie d'air (16) et présentant un étranglement (18) entre ladite admission d'air (14) et ladite sortie d'air (16). Un ensemble coulissant (20) est disposé de manière à pouvoir se déplacer dans le corps (12) et effectuer un mouvement transversal dans l'étranglement (18). Ledit ensemble coulissant (20) comporte une partie étagée (38) en amont de l'étranglement (18) et la partie inférieure de l'admission d'air est rétrécie de manière à concentrer et comprimer l'air pénétrant dans l'étranglement (18). Un réservoir (24) contenant un carburant est fixé au corps (12). Le réservoir de carburant (24) comporte une sortie de carburant (30) située dans l'étranglement (18). Une tige de mesure réglable (26) se prolonge à travers l'ensemble coulissant (20) et l'étranglement (18) dans le réservoir de carburant (24).
