A card holder provides a balance display for an IC card utilized for a system for settling cash utilizing the IC card. A balance display is provided with the card holder-type body having a card slot provided in the body. A liquid-crystal display and at least one push-button are arranged on the body for user interface. A cover member is attached to the body via a hinge so that it can be opened or closed. When an IC card is inserted into the body and the push-button is pressed, the liquid-crystal display is lit and the current balance of currency is displayed on the liquid-crystal display. When the cover member is opened and the IC card is extracted, the display of the balance is switched to a blinking display. When a settlement is performed using the IC card, a microcomputer in the body can operate to displace the balance after the settlement as well as a paid or received amount, in addition to the previous balance before the settlement.
Porte-carte à afficheur de solde pour carte à puce. Le boîtier comporte un afficheur de solde et un logement pour carte. Un afficheur à cristaux liquides et au moins un bouton-poussoir, sur le boîtier, assurent l'interface utilisateur. Un couvercle à charnière permet d'ouvrir et de fermer le boîtier. Lorsqu'une carte à puce est insérée dans le boîtier et que le bouton-poussoir est enfoncé, l'afficheur à cristaux liquides s'allume et le solde à jour apparaît. Lorsque le couvercle est ouvert et que la carte à puce est retirée, le solde affiché se met à clignoter. Lorsqu'un compte est réglé au moyen de la carte à puce, un micro-ordinateur à l'intérieur du boîtier peut afficher le solde après le règlement ainsi qu'un montant payé ou reçu, en plus du solde antérieur à la transaction.
