Card reader for game machine, comprising a memory (42) which contains a minimum credit value and receives the credit value available from a card. At each stage of the game, the available credit value varies. The available credit value is compared, on each transaction, with the minimum value. When the available credit value is less than the minimum value, a circuit (47) triggers seizure of the card. A reader of this type can operate by performing all transactions in a memory within the reader, only reading the card memory when the card is inserted into the reader and updating it when the card is ejected. Application: smart card readers for game machines.

L'invention concerne un lecteur de carte pour machine de jeux. Le lecteur comporte une mémoire (42) contenant une valeur minimale de crédit et destinée à recevoir la valeur de crédit disponible sur une carte. A chaque partie de jeu la valeur de crédit disponible évolue. Elle est comparée à chaque transaction à la valeur minimale. Lorsqu'elle devient inférieure à cette valeur minimale, un circuit (47) commande la confiscation de la carte. Un tel lecteur peut fonctionner en réalisant toutes les transactions dans une mémoire du lecteur et en ayant simplement recours à la mémoire de la carte uniquement pour sa lecture lors de l'insertion de la carte dans le lecteur et pour son inscription lors de l'éjection de la carte. Applications: lecteurs de cartes à puces pour machines de jeux.
