ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to novel 3.beta.-(4'-oxo-.alpha.-L- rhamnosyl)-14.beta.-hydroxy-bufa-4,20,22-trienolide and to processes for its preparation. The novel compound possesses a good cardiotonic activity and tests have shown that it has an improved resorption quota when compared with proscillaridin. The novel compound is thus potentially of interest in the treatment of cardiac insufficiency. Processes for the production of the novel compound are described and pharmaceutical compositions containing the novel compound are described and exemplified.
