ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A tie-down device for attaching a cargo restraint in a trailer comprise a continuous imperforate channel fitted between and lying along the length of floor members extending longitudinally in the floor of the trailer, the channel having a pair of opposing side walls normal to the floor and a horizontal bottom wall integral with the side walls and further having horizontal flanges extending from the tops of the side walls away from the channel. The floor members have rabbets in the upper faces thereof to accommodate the horizontal flanges, whereby the flanges lie flush with the floor of the trailer. The flanges are secured to the floor members by bolts countersunk into the flange, whereby the bolts are flush with the flange. A generally Z-shaped attachment member entirely within the channel comprises a one-piece multi-bended round rod having a cross bar segment extending normally across the channel, the top of the cross bar segment being even with the flanges. The rod is bent to have leg segments extending from both ends of the cross bar segment along the side walls to the bottom wall, the leg segments being oblique to the bottom wall and straddling a longitudinal section of the bottom wall which faces the cross bar segment. The rod is further bent to have foot segments extending from the leg segments away from the cross bar segment along right angle bends between the side walls and the bottom walls, the foot segments being welded to the channel at the right angle bend. An imperforate, seamless, continuous-wall concave basin in the longitudinal section of the bottom wall is integral with and continuous at all points of its periphery with the bottom wall and open toward the cross bar segment, whereby the longitudinal segment serves to guide the cargo restraint past the attachment member.
