A carpenter's pencil sharpener has a maximum width or dimension (MD) perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The sharpener also has a centering portion at least rotationally fixed to a contouring portion. The centering portion has a non-rotating, cylindrical, inner surface and an outer end defining an aperture for receiving the carpenter's pencil. The cylindrical surface has an inner diameter (ID) dimensioned to fit the maximum dimension (MD) of the carpenter's pencil, and is large enough to permit rotation of the carpenter's pencil within the cylindrical surface. The centering portion also has a length (L) generally parallel to the rotational axis and measured from the contouring portion to the outer end for maintaining the carpenter's pencil parallel to the axis.

Cette invention concerne un taille-crayon pour crayon de charpentier dont la largeur ou la dimension maximum (MD) est perpendiculaire à l'axe longitudinal. Le taille-crayon présente une partie de centrage fixée au moins en rotation sur une partie de contournage. La partie de centrage présente une surface intérieure cylindrique non tournante et une extrémité extérieure définissant une ouverture destinée à recevoir le crayon de charpentier. La surface cylindrique présente un diamètre intérieur (ID) caclulé de manière à correspondre à la dimension maximum (MD) du crayon de charpentier et est sufisamment importante pour permettre audit crayon de tourner à l'intérieur de la surface cylindrique. La partie de centrage présente par ailleurs une longueur (L) généralemenmt parallèle à l'axe de rotation, mesurée depuis la partie de contournage jusqu'à l'autre extrémité, et maintient le crayon de charpentier parallèlement à l'axe.
