A rack for hanging room sized carpets in show rooms. The rack has a plurality of uprights, each of which has a horizontal arm supporting a hanging carpet. The arm is adapted to be raised and lowered by a rod in a cylinder and the rod is driven by a motor or other means and the motor would be a gear drive type motor. The rod and cylinder are mounted on the rack.
