A carpet stretcher that requires the aid of a carpet stretching tool(19) (prior art U.S. patent # 5,007,616 Apr 16/91). The carpet stretcher is comprised of a pinned head(10) with a square bar(13) attached in a rearward position. The square bar(13) slides into a tubular extension(14) which has a square entrance(21) slightly larger than the square bar(13) allowing the square bar(13)to slide freely inside the tubular extension(14). At the rear of the tubular extension(14) is an opening(17) which receives the stretching tool(19). The operating handle(11) has a pivotal attachment(12) to the front of the pinned head(10) and is attached intermediately by a linkage(15) at an ergonomically acceptable angle, to a pivotal connection at the front of the tubular extension(14). On the rear of the tubular extension(14) is a kneeling pad(16). As the carpet technician kneels on the kneeling pad(16) his body mass anchors the stretching tool(19) to the sub floor. As the handle(11) is depressed it causes the pinned head(10) to move forward as its pins(18) grip the carpet and stretch it to the desired tension.
Tendeur de tapis nécessitant l'utilisation d'un outil pour tendre les tapis (19) (technologie antérieure, Brevet E.-U No 5 007 616 16 avril 1991). Le tendeur de tapis se compose d'une tête munie de pointes (10) et d'une barre carrée (13) fixée à l'arrière. La barre carrée (13) coulisse dans une rallonge tubulaire (14) dotée d'une entrée carrée (21), légèrement plus grande que la barre carrée (13), qui permet à cette dernière (13) de coulisser librement à l'intérieur de la rallonge tubulaire (14). A l'arrière de la rallonge tubulaire (14) se trouve une ouverture (17) qui reçoit l'outil pour tendre les tapis (19). La poignée de commande (11) possède une fixation pivotante (12) sur la partie avant de la tête munie de pointes (10) et est rattachée, à un emplacement intermédiaire, au moyen d'un élément de raccordement (15), selon un angle acceptable sur le plan ergonomique, à une connexion pivotante située à l'avant de la rallonge tubulaire (14). Sur la partie arrière de la rallonge tubulaire (14) se trouve un repose-genoux (16). Lorsque le poseur de tapis s'agenouille sur le repose-genoux (16), son poids ancre l'outil pour tendre les tapis (19) au faux plancher. Dès que la poignée (11) est abaissée, elle force la tête munie de pointes (10) à se déplacer vers l'avant lorsque les pointes (18) s'enfoncent dans le tapis et l'étirent à la tension voulue.
